Leiden & The Netherlands

The city of Leiden is the home of the oldest university of the Netherlands. The 800-year old city is well known for rich history. The historical canals, city gates, windmills, castle, Hortus botanical garden, observatory and many other historical buildings are all within walking distance in the old city center. In 2022 Leiden is the European City of Science.

April is also an ideal time to visit the famous Keukenhof to view the tulip fields.

A visit to Amsterdam is only a 40 minutes train ride away.
